The weather outside is a bit frightful, but some Philly eateries have figured out a way to make a holiday dinner that will warm you up inside. Whether it’s take-out options, some dining outside experiences or other special packages, celebrating safely and deliciously is made a bit easier for 2020.

The Olde Bar

Jose Garce’s Old City restaurant is taking on one Christmas dinner tradition in the wake of the pandemic. The eatery will be offering Philadelphians their own take-home Feast of the Seven Fishes cooked in the style of The Olde Bar. The meal comes out to be $67.50 per person with a minimum of two people, all items are ready-to-heat and come with instructions. The meal will consist of cured hamachi pastrami, jumbo shrimp cocktail, curried mussels, crab and corn chowder, bay scallop pappardelle, lobster pot pie, and tilefish en pappillote. The meal then finishes on a sweet note with a slice of 9-layer caramel chocolate cake with el Corazon curd and sea salt. Orders must be placed by Dec. 19 and can be picked up Dec.  23 and 24 from noon to 6 p.m.

Caffe Aldo Lamberti

Philly may not be offering indoor dining at this time, but New Jersey is, and in Cherry Hill, Caffe Aldo Lamberti will be offering not just indoor and outdoor dining, but take-out as well for Christmas. For 2020, Caffe Aldo Lamberti will be featuring their chef’s special menu, with pairings chosen by their Sommelier. Selections include: jumbo shrimp and scallops fra diavolo, veal campagnola, filet mignon gorgonzola, grilled 16-ounce veal rib chop, a 16 ounce New York strip, zucchini crabcakes, yellowfin tuna and crab and more. Reservations are required and subject to availability, all takeout orders must be in by Dec. 20 and picked up prior to 4 p.m. on Dec. 25.  Reservations for Christmas Eve dinner are available between 3:30 and 8 p.m. while reservations for Christmas Eve lunch (regular menu) are available between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Amada

Amada has always had a Christmas Eve dinner tradition and although this year they can’t dine in person, the Old City hotspot will be letting families take home their fare instead. Amada’s dinner is $55 per person and includes turkey or prime rib for $75 served with herb roasted fingerling potatoes, brussels sprouts, salad verde, bacon-wrapped dates, whipped bone marrow, parker house rolls, and holiday cookies with spiced hot chocolate. The meal comes ready-to-heat with instructions included and serves a minimum of two people. Orders must be placed by Dec. 19 and will be ready for pickup Dec. 23 and 24 from noon to 6:30 p.m.

Stove and Co. Prime Rib Christmas Dinner

There is going to be ample opportunity for Philadelphians to sink their teeth into a holiday prime rib dinner from Stove and Tap’s locations. Philadelphians can head to Stove and Tap in Landsdale, Stove and Tap in Malvern, Al Pastor in Exton and The Bercy in Ardmore to indulge in their holiday menu which consists of herb-crusted prime rib with au jus; roasted brussels sprouts with bacon; potato and leek pie; a beet, tangerine, and feta salad with pistachio dressing; and sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce. Anyone interested can order by Dec. 20 by calling the restaurant’s number and can pick-up their meals by Dec. 24 at various locations.

Positano Coast

Positano Coast is also offering their own spin on the Italian tradition of the Feast of the Seven Fishes. The menu consists of chilled crab and tuna with avocado and tobiko; a lobster croquette with mustard aioli; seafood salad with octopus, shrimp, calamari, lemon and olive oil; paccheri with octopus, shrimp, mussels, fresh tomatoes and white wine; a grilled branzino fillet with soffritto, artichokes, olives, tomatoes and roasted potatoes; and Italian Christmas desserts. Positano Coast is offering this specialty dinner for both take-out and dine-in for a price of $120 per two people. The meal is available from Dec. 22 to 24 and is not available for delivery.

El Camino

The Northern Liberties hotspot is offering a few different options for holiday dinner packages. The meal comes with a choice of a main dish (ranging from ribeye roast beef, braised brisket pot roast or fried turkey), sides (ranging from orange honey glazed carrots, parker house rolls, mashed potatoes and more), plus a chocolate yule log or red velvet roll for dessert. The restaurant will also be offering a few a la carte options as well, plus to-go margaritas because why not? Prices for the packages range from: 2 people for $80, 4 people for $140 and 8-10 people for $260.

Smokin’ Betty’s and Devil’s Alley

The two eateries are combining their powers this year to serve up some Christmas cheer in the form of holiday dinners. The specialty meals prices at $45 per person and includes southwest corn chowder, a garden salad with cranberry vinagrette, plus your choice of a main (options range from BBQ pork ribs, a veggie lentil loaf, BBQ salmon and more) and two sides (options include cheddar cornbread, stuffing, charred brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes and more) plus your choice between a triple layer carrot or chocolate cake. There will also be a few a la carte options that diners can choose from if they don’t want the full meal. Reservations are available for outdoor dining, and delivery will be available through DoorDash if availability allows.
