Police and the city are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of two people responsible for shooting a 7-year-old girl while her parents were parking the car.

The chaotic scene unfolded Saturday night on the 5400 block of Haverford Avenue. The victim’s parents told police they had put their flashers on to park their 2013 Chevy Impala when a car that was behind them sped up and passed their vehicle. They heard a loud pop and the rear window shattered.

Three children who were in the back seat, all girls aged 3, 4, and 7, began to cry. The victim’s mother called 911 after she saw blood coming from her daughter’s head.

Medics initially thought the girl was cut from breaking glass, but doctors found a bullet lodged in the girl’s skull.

Surgeons removed the bullet on Wednesday, police said.

The reward is being offered by the Fraternal Order of Police and the City of Philadelphia. Each put up $5,000.

The vehicle from which the shot was fired is described as a dark, four-door sedan. It was last seen with two men in it, heading west on Haverford Avenue at about 9 p.m.

Anyone with information is asked to call Philadelphia police.
