14 shot Saturday, Sunday in Philly

At least 14 people were shot Saturday and Sunday in Philadelphia, as the city continues to experience unprecedented levels of gun violence.

One person, a 24-year-old man, was killed by gunfire. Police said he was shot multiple times just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday inside a house on the 3900 block of Ogden Street in the Mantua section of West Philadelphia.

He died a short time later, and no one has been arrested, according to authorities.

A 27-year-old man walked into Temple University Hospital early Sunday morning after being shot in the right elbow just before 4:15 a.m. on the 4200 block of N. Broad Street in North Philadelphia, police said. He was later listed in stable condition.

Earlier in the morning, at around 2 a.m., a 33-year-old man was shot in the groin and buttocks on the 500 block of W. Butler Street in the Hunting Park neighborhood. Authorities said he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Police said a 35-year-old woman was transported to Temple University Hospital after being shot just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday on the 4200 block of Park Avenue in North Philadelphia. Her injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.

In Tacony, a 41-year-old man was shot in the right leg at around 12:45 a.m. Sunday on the 6400 block of Torresdale Avenue, according to authorities. He is expected to physically recover.

About 30 minutes earlier, in a separate incident, a 37-year-old man was shot multiple times on the 100 block of E. Clearfield Street in Fairhill, police said. He was hospitalized in critical condition.

Authorities said a 19-year-old man was fighting for his life after being shot in the head just before 10 p.m. Saturday on the 1000 block of W. Ruscomb Street in Logan. He is being treated at Einstein Medical Center.

A 29-year-old man sustained multiple gunshot wounds after shots were fired just before 8:45 p.m. Saturday inside a property on the 200 block of S. 51st Street in West Philadelphia, according to police. His injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.

In East Germantown, a 19-year-old man was shot in the chest, both arms and both legs at around 7 p.m. Saturday on the 300 block of E. Rittenhouse Street. He was later listed in stable condition at Einstein, authorities said.

Just after 5:30 p.m. Saturday, a 25-year-old man was shot in the left leg on the 2000 block of W. Boston Street in North Philadelphia, police said. He is expected to recover physically.

A 26-year-old man was in critical condition after being shot several times at around 4:30 p.m. Saturday on the 5500 block of Morton Street in East Germantown. Officers recovered a gun from the victim but have not made an arrest.

Police said a 23-year-old man was rushed to the hospital after being shot in the head at around 10:30 a.m. Saturday inside a house on the 900 block of N. Marvine Street in Logan. He is in critical condition, according to authorities.

Earlier Saturday morning, just after 4 a.m., a 55-year-old man was shot in the head on the 2500 block of N. Chadwick in North Philadelphia, police said. He was later listed in critical condition at Temple University Hospital.

Shots were fired at around 1:45 a.m. Saturday on the 200 block of W. Somerset Street in Fairhill, leaving a 31-year-old man with wounds to his head, right arm and buttocks. Authorities said he was in “critical but stable” condition following the shooting. Officers recovered a gun at the scene.

Police reported no arrests in connection with any of the weekend shootings.
