76ers, Crpyto.com agree to jersey patch partnership

The Philadelphia 76ers announced on Wednesday that they have entered a partnership with Crypto.com to allow the crypto platform to advertise a patch on the NBA team’s jerseys for the 2021-22 season.

“Crypto.com will be woven into the fabric of our identity,” 76ers president of business operations Chris Heck said. “Together, we will change the landscape for how crypto is integrated in sports.

“These are the types of creative, innovative partnerships that we crave. We’re thrilled to share this with our fans in Philadelphia and around the world for years to come.”

Outside of the jersey partnership, the Sixers and Crypto.com will also launch their first-ever non-fungible token (NFT), which fans may purchase through Crypto.com NFT.

Each of the four 76ers’ jerseys will feature the Crypto.com patch on the left shoulder area, including a new City Edition uniform that “will commemorate an iconic time in 76ers history” and will be unveiled in November. The Sixers will further pay tribute to the occasion by releasing “a set of unique NFTs.”

“We’re extremely excited to announce our partnership with the 76ers, becoming the first global crypto platform with an official jersey patch partnership in the NBA,” Kris Marszalek, co-founder and CEO of Crypto.com, said.  “The NBA is one of the most popular leagues in the world, and the 76ers were an obvious choice. Together we’re going to create integrated experiences for fans everywhere; our patch and court integrations are just the beginning.”

Crypto.com already has a heavy influence on the sporting stage around the world, working with Formula 1 racing, UFC, French powerhouse soccer team Paris Saint-Germain, and the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens.
