On a typical day, a window seat and a rumpled, second-hand Metro is about as romantic a ride you can expect on the El. But Sunday, Krisy Plourde and Tom Golden will actually exchange vows on the Blue Line.
As part of the Love Train event — an annual chartered tour of the Love Letter mural project — Mayor Nutter will marry the couple on Sunday afternoon, just in time for Valentine’s Day. (Visit www.muralarts.org for tickets.)
Ten years ago, Plourde and Golden met at freshman move-in day at Drexel University, making the train an oddly fitting choice for the nuptials. “For us, a marriage on the El is perfect. It will forever be the best story to recount,” says Plourde. “We met in West Philly and will be uniting our love in West Philly.”
