All in the Moyer family

If Jamie Moyer manages to pitch when he’s 50, he may have a unique opportunity — playing against his son.

Now, wouldn’t that be something?

The 47-year-old Moyer was a proud father in the Phillies clubhouse yesterday as his teammates shook hands with his 18-year-old son, Dillon.

Dillon Moyer, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound shortstop from The Pendleton School at IMG Academies, was selected in the 22nd round by the Twins, No. 675 overall.

“It’s pretty cool,” Jamie Moyer said.”

Dillon hasn’t decided whether he will sign with the Twins or attend Cal-Irvine. For now, he’s just reveling in his situation.

“It’s been a lot of fun,” Dillon said. “I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet.”

The oldest player in the Major Leagues, Jamie Moyer could conceivably face his son down the road.

“We’ll see if he keeps playing,” Dillon said.

“I’ve been done forever,” Jamie quipped.
