Najee Rivera, who was allegedly beaten by two Philly cops two years ago this month, was reportedly busted Wednesday night in South Philadelphia for violating a restraining order and heroin possession.
Rivera, 23, was taken into custody around 11 p.m., reports philly.com.
A 29-year-old woman accused him of the restraint order violation,
Rivera’s preliminary hearing is set for May 21 at 10 a.m., the website says .
Metro reported that two Philadelphia police officers were arrested in February and charged with knocking Rivera off his motorized scooter in May 2013 and then brutally beating him before slapping on the handcuffs.
District Attorney Seth Williams said the officers then falsified their police report to justify the use of excessive force.
After reviewing the results of grand jury investigation, Williams charged officers Kevin Robinson, a 6-year veteran, and Sean McKnight, a 7-year veteran.
Rivera found surveillance video of the incident from a business located on the 2700 block of North 6th St. The video was retrieved by a gal pal and submitted to police.
Charges against Rivera were dropped for the 2013 incident.
