As A.C. firefighters respond to call at Tropicano casino, thieves steal their truck

After firefighters responded to a call at the Tropicana casino in Atlantic City early this morning, they returned to their truck only to find it had been stolen, according to a report from The Press of Atlantic City.

Crews responded to the casino shortly before 3:30 a.m. to free patrons who were trapped in an elevator stuck on the 31st floor. When the firefighters finished up the job about an hour later and headed back to their truck parked on Brighton Avenue near the bus terminal, all they found was an empty spot.

They enlisted the help of casino security. Security guards found the truck parked and unattended about 20 minutes later in the North Tower valet area a block away, but have no idea how it got there. A search of surveillance camera footage did not turn up video of the truck parked or en route to either spot, according to the report.
