At least 10 people were shot over the weekend in Philadelphia, including a man who was gunned down in broad daylight Saturday.
Police said a 26-year-old man was shot in the back just after noon Saturday near the corner of 27th and Cambria streets in North Philadelphia. He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he died at 12:16 p.m., authorities said.
No arrests have been made.
On Sunday, just after 10 a.m., a man, described only as in his 20s, was shot multiple times throughout his body at Cornwall and Jasper streets in Harrowgate, police said. Office rushed him to the hospital, where he is in stable condition.
A 35-year-old man was sitting inside his SUV just before 3 a.m. Sunday on the 2800 block of Emerald Street in Kensington when someone shot him once in the neck. He is in critical condition, according to authorities.
Officers were called to the 1600 block of N. 60th Street in Overbrook just before 11 p.m. Saturday and found a 45-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his abdomen and left forearm. They rushed him to Lankenau Medical Center, where he is in critical condition, police said.
Investigators believe the man received a phone call from a woman and went outside to meet her. The two got into an argument, and, after the victim went back inside, a man kicked down his door and fired several shots.
The suspects fled before officers arrived, police said.
In Southwest Philadelphia, a 29-year-old man was shot in the right side of his abdomen, right wrist and left leg just after 8 p.m. Saturday on the 5800 block of Cedarhurst Street. He is being treated at Penn Presbyterian Hospital for nonlife-threatening injuries, authorities said.
Two men were injured when shots rang out at around 6 a.m. Saturday on the 2800 block of N. 2nd Street in Fairhill, police said.
The victims told investigators they were sitting inside a car at the time of the shooting.
A 31-year-old was shot multiple times throughout his body, and a 33-year-old man was struck in the left thigh. Both were listed in stable condition at Temple Hospital, according to police.
Early Saturday morning, investigators were called to Temple Hospital and spoke to a 36-year-old woman, who told them she was shot three times in the left leg at 12:45 a.m. on the 6900 block of Chew Avenue in East Mount Airy.
Police said an 18-year-old man showed up to Temple Hospital at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday with a gunshot wound under his arm.
The victim told officers he was walking to the store when he bumped into a man on the 4200 block of N. Carlisle Street in North Philadelphia. The pair began arguing and a fight ensured. During the tussle, the victim heard two gunshots and ran away, he told investigators.
Officers responded at 12:10 a.m. Saturday to the 2000 block of Letterly Street in Kensington for a report of a shooting. They found a puddle of blood, broken glass and multiple shell casings.
Police received word that a 19-year-old man had arrived at Episcopal Hospital with gunshot wounds to his head and chest. There was no word on his condition.
Authorities said no arrests had been made in connection with any of the shootings.
