BJ-32 Reaches Preliminary Contract Agreement: Strike Not Likely

BJ-32, a union that represents over 2,600 property services workers in Philadelphia, including janitorial staff and maintenance workers, reached a preliminary contract agreement yesterday after several marches around the city and talks of a strike.

The union’s bargaining committee and Building Owners Labor Relations, Inc. agreed on a four-year contract including nearly 7 percent in wage increases over the next four years and maintenance of the workers’ employer-paid healthcare.

The agreement still has to be ratified by union members.
