As if the Mütter Museum isn’t already creepy enough, the house of medical oddities opens its doors for a Halloween fete that includes a flashlight tour of the museum’s rarely seen basement. Tickets include an open bar for liquid courage, and a swag bag with spooky goodies like a Mütter-themed syringe shot glass, mutated lab rab plushie and, for kicks and giggles, a vagina or penis pin.

Dress up as your favorite star for AIDS Law Project’s annual Halloween costume party and fundraising bash. Depending on how much you fork over for a ticket, the evening includes a three-course dinner, open bar and dance party, but the real draw is the entertainment. Big-name local dancers and performance artists like Brian Sanders’ JUNK, The Bearded Ladies and Gunnar Montana are all scheduled to perform.

Smith Memorial Playground hosts its annual Healthy Halloween bash that proves All Hallows’ Eve doesn’t have to beallabout the sugary stuff. On Saturday, Headhouse Square transforms into a surrealist pumpkin patch, with straw mazes, circus performances, horse and wagon hayrides and trick-or-treating for kids at local businesses from 3 to 6 p.m. Stick around after 6 for Halloween Movies under the Shambles, featuring showings of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” and “Beetlejuice. At 9 p.m., DJ Robert Drake hosts an interactive screening of “Rocky Horror Picture Show” for grown folks.

Celebrate Halloween weekend Magic Gardens-style. This party takes place at artist Isaiah Zagar’s 9,000 square-foot mosaicked warehouse in South Philly, with music from energetic Balkan band West Philadelphia Orchestra and Mexican cuisine from South Philly Barbacoa. Costumes are required.

The area surrounding the Singing Fountain plays home to activities all day long, like pumpkin painting, arts and crafts and a costume contest for kids and pups. Restaurants open their doors to offer seasonal street fare, and live music comes courtesy of local bands Shakey & Winky, Mia Johnson and Las Palabras.
