Bloody weekend brings homicide count to 45

Police have released the identities of three men killed in three different homicides over the weekend.

Daniel Knab, 28, of the 3100 block of Robins Avenue in Mayfair, was shot in the back early Friday morning on the 3500 block of Arthur Street in Holmesburg at 4:57 a.m. He was pronounced on the scene at 5:04 a.m.

Paul Flynn, 30, of the 3600 block of Indian Queen Lane in East Falls, was stabbed multiple times early Friday morning at 1:36 a.m. on the 5000 block of Portico Street in Germantown. He died at Albert Einstein Medical Center at 4:35 a.m.

Maurice Hampton, 27, of the 2400 block of Harlen Street in North Philadelphia, was shot in the chest on the 2400 block of Masters Street at 5:12 a.m. Saturday. He was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital.

Police have not issued a motive or arrest in any of the cases.

The bloody weekend brought the yearly homicide count to 45, which includes the shooting death of Dijion Bowie, 30, outside a West Oak Lane nightclub on Saturday around 1:15 a.m. and the shooting of an unidentified man, 25, inside a car in East Mount Airy early this morning.

There were 30 homicide victims on this date in 2010 and 43 last year.
