The body found yesterday in a North Philadelphia playground was the victim of suicide, according to police.
Medics responding to a report of an unconscious person around 9:45 a.m. yesterday at the Connie Mack Playground at 20th and Lehigh streets found a black man in his late 20s with a gunshot wound to the head and pronounced the victim dead on the scene.
The wound appeared to be self-inflicted and a note was found, said Officer Tanya Little. Police also recovered the weapon used in the shooting.
