A 13-year-old boy is recovering after he was struck by a bullet Tuesday evening in a shooting thought to have stemmed from a road rage incident.

Around 11:30 p.m., the boy was playing outside on the 4300 block of North Darien Street in the Hunting Park area of North Philly. According to Philadelphiapolice, a white four-door vehicle stopped at the intersection of Bristol and Darien streets, and an unknown black male exited the vehicle and fired a handgun eight times, striking the boy in his left leg and right arm.

The suspect, described as being 5-foot-9-inches, heavy set with a stick beard and wearing a white T-shirt, was in the vehicle with an unknown Hispanic woman, approximately 24 to 29 years old, with a light complexion and long hair.

A man told police that he had gotten into a verbal argument with the woman after she almost struck him with her vehicle. Several minutes later, the woman returned with the unknown black male, who opened fire on the block.

The car fled the scene after the shooting, 6ABC reported.

The boywas taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital in stable condition.
