Police released surveillance footage today of two men coolly scooping designer sunglasses into a bag inside a Rittenhouse shop as an employee watched, then fleeing as she tried to stop them.

The thieves targeted a Sunglass Hut inside the Shops at Liberty Plaza, at 16th and Chestnut streets, arriving there about 8:45 p.m. on Jan. 12.

While the two men were standing in the store looking at sunglasses, an employee reportedly approached them and asked if they needed any help, to which they reportedly replied that they were just looking.

As the employee stood there, the two men blocked her view as they began scooping Prada and Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses into a small bag they were carrying.

The employee chased the two men but lost sight of them.

The total value of the stolen sunglasses, four Prada pairs and four Dolce & Gabbana pairs, was about $2,000, police said.
