Breaking: Penn State coach arrested

We don’t usually clog this space with much Penn State football news.

However, when a sex scandal hits … wow.

Former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky was arrested Saturday and charged with 40 criminal counts, according to the state attorney general’s office. Sandusky, 67, is accused of sexually abusing eight boys. Sandusky, who retired as the team’s defensive coach in 1999, was released on $100,000 bail after bring arraigned.

Making matters worse, Penn State athletic director Tim Curley has been charged with perjury for failing to report what he knew about the allegations. Another administrator, Gary Schultz, was also charged with perjury. They are expected to turn themselves in Monday. Head coach Joe Paterno hasn’t been charged with any crimes or accused of any wrongdoing.
