Carlesha returns home, family to speak out Thursday night

The family of Carlesha Freeland-Gaither will speak out Thursday after reuniting with their abducted loved one.

Freeland-Gaither, 22, was found Wednesday inside a car along with her captor in Jessup, Maryland, three days after she was violently abducted in Germantown,police said Thursday. She returned home Thursday morning.

Her family will speak out about the ordeal at 6 p.m.

Her abductor, identified as 37-year-old Delvin Barnes, will face federal charges in Philadelphia. He was being held in in Richmond, Virgina on a separate capitol murder and abduction charge.

According to 6ABC, Barnes has already served three prison sentences in the state of Pennsylvania.

DespiteFreeland-Gaither’s connection to Maryland, where attended high school, she told police that she did not know her abductor.

Thursday night Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey called the Barnes a “vicious predator.”
