Topped with golden oak mushrooms, each of the six ravioli are homemade and of course, packed with goat cheese. Pair it with their Berries and Bubbles cocktail for peak sophistication.

Who knew that such a casual and cosy bar/restaurant could serve up such world-class ravioli? The brainchild of executive chef Paul Trowbridge, the mushroom and ricotta ravioli ($16) is made in-house and covered in a lusciously creamy parmesan sauce. You’ll need a cigarette after savoring this.

So your friends from out of town are visiting and you’re searching for ravioli in the historic district? No problem! Red Owl Tavern not only has an eclectic menu to please everyone in your crew, it has a stellar ravioli dish available just for National Ravioli Day: braised goat raviolo ($15). Yes, it is one big hunk of ravioli (aren’t you glad we gave you that language lesson earlier?) but it comes stuffed with braised goat, baby spinach and egg yolk. This is one dish you have every excuse not to share since there’s only one.

If you really love ravioli, perhaps you should enjoy an entire meal dedicated to it. Italian steakhouse Davio’s has a three-course menu available ($55) from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. for National Ravioli Day that includes three different ravioli dishes — mozzarella en carozza ravioli (San Marzano tomatoes, prosciutto, arugula), blue crab-ricotta ravioli (asparagus, sunchoke chips, lemon cream) and balsamic braised short rib ravioli (organic mushrooms, gorgonzola dulce cream).
