CO-OP Restaurant & Lounge is now offering a late-night happy hour every weeknight

West Philadelphia is known for being a bustling area full of college-level energy (thanks to Penn and Drexel’s campuses calling University City home), beautiful parks, and of course, sublime food destinations. Falling in that latter category is the popular modern-American hot spot, CO-OP Restaurant & Lounge.

CO-OP is an ideal eatery for a vast amount of groups. Students love the plethora of delicious brunch, lunch and dinner options; young adults love the eclectically chic atmosphere with an airy indoor-outdoor layout; and foodies love the unique flavor combinations the kitchen uses to elevate the simply delicious cuisine up an artful notch.

Philadelphians who stop into this hot spot can start their day off right by diving into a plate of bananas Foster french toast, fried chicken and biscuits, rotisserie corned beef hash, a sticky caramel cinnamon bun, or tater tots poutine, while others can cap their night off perfectly with seared Cape May sea scallops, a teriyaki salmon burger, crab Fiorelli, cauliflower dukkha and potato gnocchi.

If your mouth has already started to water, you’re in for a treat. CO-OP has recently announced their latest menu special, and this new late-night feature will highlight some of their most tasty and shareable dishes at an affordable price, making both your taste buds and your wallet happy.

CO-OP’s new “9 after 9” late-night happy hour just started last week, and already eager diners have jumped on the opportunity to sample delicious dishes after the sun has gone down.

According to the release, with this new happy hour guests can enjoy nine plates at $9 after 9 p.m., including shareable bites as well as vegetarian and gluten-free options. Late-night diners can pair their fare with a rotating bartender’s choice after-dinner drink, including nightcap cocktails, port wines and more for only $9 as well.

“‘9 After 9’ is for the night owls, late-night snackers, the workplace workhorse that can’t make it to your standard 5-7 p.m. happy hour, and the student who needs to refuel before cramming all night for an exam,” said Justin Hersker, CO-OP director of food and beverage, in a release. “The menu includes easy-to-share delicious items as well as a rotating after-dinner beverage — for $9, of course!”

“9 After 9” menu items include hot spinach and artichoke dip with a grilled crostini, crispy onion straws with a barbeque spice, crunchy brussel sprouts with a chile-garlic sauce, vegetable crudite served with ranch dip and pistachio-dukkah spiced hummus dip, grilled cheese with tomato soup, French onion poutine, fried calamari, potato chips with onion dip and smoked roasted chicken wings.

So if you’re out late studying, getting off the evening shift or you’re just hungry for a delightful bite, head down to CO-OP Restaurant & Lounge to check out their new happy hour — or stop in during the day and early evening to indulge in their full menu!

“9 After 9” will be offered Monday-Friday until the kitchen closes (11 p.m). To learn more about CO-OP Restaurant & Lounge (20 S. 33rd St.), visit coopphilly.com
