Cops have lead in Facebook target’s death

Upper Darby police said yesterday they are close to arresting one of the men they say is involved in the shooting of Facebook murder plot target Corey White.

White was killed Monday evening after two men in a carjacked vehicle pulled up to the 5100 block of Hadfield Street in West Philadelphia. One man got out and shot White in the chest, police said.

In June, White was the subject of an alleged Facebook murder-for-hire plot by London Eley, his child’s mother, but police are not sure whether the incidents are connected.

“We are working very hard on investigating the carjacking and we feel very strongly that we have the identity of the man who did the carjacking, but we haven’t charged him yet,” Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said yesterday.

According to police, the vehicle was stolen from behind a 69th Street movie theater less than an hour before White’s murder. The car was later found on fire in an Upper Darby industrial park.
