Imagine dining outdoors amongst grapevines with the best and brightest of Philly’s culinary scene. You can do just that on Sunday, Sept. 17 at the 2nd annual Outstanding in her Field Farm Dinner, presented by Les Dames d’Escoffier (LDEI) at the Inn at Grace Winery. The best part? Your attendance helps fuel scholarships for aspiring culinary talent.
This year’s dinner honors Ann Karlen, who created Fair Food in 2000, a non-profit dedicated to building a local food economy by connecting family farms to the Philly marketplace.
“We are very excited to host this communal meal that celebrates the local producers that Ann has worked with since founding Fair Food and the culinary expertise of the Les Dames chefs and friends of our organization,” says LDEI co-chair and president, Natanya DiBona. “Our annual dinner is an incredible event that brings together chefs, producers and foodies alike in a beautiful setting among the vines of this famous vineyard.”
Attendees will get to feast on farm-to-table fare from the region’s most creative chefs, with dishes like Pocono rainbow trout from Chef Jon Jividen and Michelle Leff, braised brisket with fall fruit from Lynn Buono at Feast Your Eyes Catering, croissants and palmiers from the legendary Chef Esther McManus and much more.
Event proceeds support LDEI’s scholarship programs for women pursuing careers in culinary arts, hospitality, fine beverage and agriculture.
“Outstanding in her Field celebrates the accomplishments of a pioneering woman in food, like Ann Karlen, while raising scholarship money to support the next generation of women in food,” adds DiBona.
