Is it too early to start the Cy Young chants?

Roy Halladay struck out eight Astros and notched his first NL complete game in a 2-1 win yesterday in Houston. The right-hander calmly worked himself out of jams in the sixth and seventh innings.

“You’d like to have it a little easier than the sixth and seventh, but once you get out of that trouble and you know you’re getting closer, that’s when you want to be out there,” Halladay said.

It was Halladay’s 150th career victory and his 50th complete game. The Phillies (5-1) are off to their best start since 1993.

At the plate, Jimmy Rollins got the party started when he sent Roy Oswalt’s second pitch over the right-field fence to put the Phillies up 1-0. Raul Ibanez led off the second inning with a double, then scored when Carlos Ruiz hit into a fielder’s choice.
