Philadelphia will see two new stores open, one at 3854 Morrell Avenue in Northeast Philly and another on North Broad Street. Those two stores will have a combined 20,000 square feet of retail space.

Metro Commercial represents over 100 national retail chains and helps them scout and secure locations. The company also acts leasing agent for more than 300 properties, managing a total of 6.5 million square feet of retail space.

In 2009, CBS News reported that discount retailer Dollar Tree’s success previewed changes to America’s retail economy following the great recession. And, the company made national headlines over the past several years overa battle to acquire competitor Family Dollar in the face of similarly named Dollar General.

In the end, Dollar Tree prevailed over Dollar General and acquired Family Dollar.
