Police said the double murder in Lawncrest Sunday was done ‘Execution-style” and the killer was known to the victims.

On Sunday Donna Muller, 49, and her 22-year-old son, Richard, were found dead on the second floor of their Northeast Philadelphia row home on the 300 block of Stevens Street with gunshot wounds to the back of the head, police said.

“Both of them in execution-style murders,” Capt. James Clark said. “It appears that it’s personal. It appears that it was someone that they knew.”

There was a dog inside that didn’t attack or bark, Clark said.

No valuables were taken, and the house wasn’t ransacked, he added. There doesn’t appear to be a forced entry.

Police believe the double murder was committed between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday, and are asking any neighbors who might have seen any activity to contact police.

The city offers a $20,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a suspect in a homicide.

Anyone with information is asked to submit a tip via telephone at 215.686.TIPS (8477) or text a tip to PPD TIP or 773847.
