Eages vs. Bengals: 3 things to watch

1. No surprises here.

Despite returning to the practice field in limited roles, QB Mike Vick and RB LeSean McCoy were both ruled out for tonight’s game. (Brent Celek is also out tonight.) The concussed duo had been participating in light practices and walk-throughs earlier in the week, but the team decided to keep them shelved. Wise move. Don’t expect either of them to return to game action anytime soon, even if they are given a clean bill of health.

2. Foles frenzy rolls on.

There has been a sizeable portion of Eagles fans jumping on the Nick Foles bandwagon after leading a comeback victory last week. And why not? The rookie quarterback is making progress. He looked very

confident and poised, while throwing for 381 yards. Still, Tampa Bay has one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. He’ll get a stiffer test tonight against Cincinnati’s 10th-best pass defense.

3. Along defensive front.

The wide-nine is being fazed out, and the defensive line rotation is dead. That means we’ll really get to see what the starting front of Brandon Graham, Cullen Jenkins, Fletcher Cox and Trent Cole can bring to the table. They saw the majority of the snaps last week — with Cox and Jenkins registering sacks — and will continue to do so the rest of the way. It’s the Tommy Brasher effect.
