Eagles-Bills: Roger Goodell in the house

First, some housekeeping. Here are the Birds’ inactives today: Mike Kafka, Jaiquawn Jarrett, Curtis Marsh, Trent Cole, Kyle DeVan, Jason Peters, Julian Vandervelde.

That means Winston Justice is active for the first time this season, and Vince Young is the backup QB.

Now, on to what the NFL commish had to say earlier:

Roger Goodell is at Ralph Wilson Stadium this afternoon and plans to sit out in the stands and watch the game. But first, the commish dropped by the press box to spend a few minutes with reporters.

Goodell said he chose this game because “it’s a great stadium to watch a game.” He also said that he would like to expand the NFL’s reach overseas, and plans to discuss playing two games in London, England next season. The 49ers and Broncos play in London next week, but the game isn’t sold out.

“This year, because of the lockout, we didn’t start selling tickets until mid-August, so we still have some tickets but fan reaction has been overwhelmingly positive and we want to build on that and we’re going to talk about it at our league meeting Tuesday with maybe the potential of expanding it to two games in London,” Goodell said.

Goodell didn’t rule out the possibility of playing in Mexico, but he added that the “expansion of the regular season series is focused on the UK.”

And now we get ready to check out the Buffalo Bills cheerleaders. More to come …
