Eagles, Cowboys will fight for NFC East next Sunday

Nick Foles, Eagles quarterback, Cowboys Eagles backup Nick Foles may have blown his chance at ever starting in the NFL after a disastrous Sunday at the Linc.

For the third time in six seasons, the Eagles and Cowboys will face off in Week 17 with a playoff spot on the line.

Just when Dallas looked to be up to its typical December fumbling and bumbling, trailing by nine points early in the fourth quarter against Washington, Tony Romo took control, mounting an 87-yard drive to stun the Redskins 24-23 Sunday.

Due to the Cowboys’ 17-3 win in Philadelphia on Oct. 20, Dallas holds the NFC East tie-breaker. That made the Eagles’ nightcap with the Bears virtually meaningless, as next Sunday’s game will reward the winner with the No. 3 or 4 seed in the NFC.

“We have a lot of respect for the Eagles,” Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett told the media after the win. “They have certainly had a very good year.”
