The Eagles are prioritizing their potent offense from 2013 by bringing the gang back for 2014 and beyond.
The club announced extensions for wide receiver Riley Cooper and center Jason Kelce Thursday morning, less than a day after they extended left tackle Jason Peters five seasons.
The Cooper deal could be worth up to$25 million, though the details have yet to be released. Cooper emerged as one of quarterback Nick Foles’ favorite targets last season and will join DeSean Jackson as a one-two punch, with Jeremy Maclin’s fate yet to be determined.
Jason Kelcesigns a six-year extension is worth $37.5 million, with $13 million guaranteed, according to a league source. If he earns the entire amount allocated in the deal, its maximum value is $40.1 million. The $6.25 million per season he would earn would make Kelce one of the top-five paid centers in the NFL.
Ironically, the three extended Eagles took low key routes to the NFL. One was an undrafted free agent (Peters), one a fifth round pick (Cooper) and one a sixth round pick (Kelce) respectively.
Both deals will become official in a news conference this afternoon.
