Eagles Notebook: Plaxico Burress drawing interest?

It’s no secret that the Eagles and Plaxico Burress like each other very, very much.

The Birds pursued him last offseason and came close to offering him a deal, according to Burress, and the former Jets and Giants receiver told a local radio station that he would welcome a chance to re-unite with childhood friend Mike Vick in Philadelphia.

On Monday, Jason La Canfora — one of the most respected scribes over at NFL.com — blogged that Burress and the Eagles have been “in contact.”

In other random Eagles news … Former first-round pick Freddie Mitchell will be arraigned on federal tax fraud charges Thursday morning. Mitchell, 33, was busted, along with two Bensalem natives, in a tax fraud scheme. According to court documents, the group netted up to $1.9 million in fraudulent returns.
