Lane Johnson may be getting his wish to play his entire career as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.

The team has announced a six-year contract with Johnson that will keep him in Philly through 2021.

It’s been widely speculated that Johnson, the number 4 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft and arguably the Eagles best offensive lineman this year, willstep over to left tackle when Pro Bowler Jason Peters retires.

In the three seasons Johnson has been an Eagle, he has started in 43 games as a right tackle and two at left tackle. Peters is expected to return for at least one more season, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

Dollar figures weren’t released, but according to media reports, the Johnson extension has a $63 million price tag on it, with more than $35 million guaranteed.

The Eagles are still in the hunt for an offensive lineman in the draft to play guard.
