Almost every key Eagles wide receiver was injured at some point this preseason. But with the Birds’s NFL season opener just days away, offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur says the receiving corps will be at full strength against the Jaguars Sunday.

“ I think they are ready to go,” Shurmur told the media Wednesday morning. “These are guys [Jeremy Maclin, Riley Cooper] that have played in the NFL for multiple years. They understand what it takes to get ready to go. They are comfortable in our system, and they are ready to play.”

At this time last year, Maclin was a few weeks removed from ACL surgery. Now, he is a key member of the Eagles offensive attack.

“He’s really actually done very well coming back from his injury and then going through the training sessions,” Shurmur said. “I think as we get ready to play now, and we kind of structure our training sessions where we’re practicing drives and making sure we get groups of plays so that they get their conditioning, I think he’s ready to go.”

Jordan Matthews has been healthy all preseason long, and has improved with each game. Josh Huff sat out practice Wednesday and his status for Sunday is unknown.
