Daniel Savage, who lost to Councilwoman Maria Quinones-Sanchez in 2007, announced his candidacy yesterday. But, Sanchez maintains she’s facing opposition from “forces outside the district,” too.
“It’s too early to tell how many hands are in the pot, but it comes back to the fact that being an independent voice who worked hard to change ‘business as usual’ makes people uncomfortable,” she said.
Savage questioned Sanchez’s effectiveness. “There’s too much crime and too few jobs in the district.”
