Flyers Notebook: Bryzgalov shines in 3-2 win

The Flyers finally earned a hard-fought win Tuesday night beating Winnipeg 3-2 on stop two of their six-game road trip. It marked just their second road win of the season.

Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 24 of 26 shots, while hearing jeers most of the game from the crowd, and rookie Tye McGinn notched what proved to be the game-winning goal. Kimmo Timonen and Brayden Schenn scored the other goals for the Flyers. Jake Voracek (two assists) has eight points in his last eight games.

But the hero of the night was Bryzgalov, who made some brilliant saves just one night after being yanked. The goaltender was pulled in the second period Monday night after allowing four goals in less than 30 minutes.

“Bryz was sharp for us the entire game, and he’s been that way for us. And to bounce back from last night … you gotta bounce back from that and he was terrific,” Flyers coach Peter Laviolette said.

The Flyers are off until Friday when they travel up the Turnpike to take on the New Jersey Devils.
