Flyers on the road against rival Penguins

Peter Laviolette called it “mindless” hockey. The animated Flyers coach was seen ripping into his team several times during Monday’s 2-1 loss to Columbus. That message was received in a big way, as the Flyers rebounded Tuesday with a 6-3 win over Buffalo. They’ll look to make it two in a row Friday night at Pittsburgh (7 p.m., CSN).

“We controlled the play for the most part, that was good to see, especially after [Monday’s] game,” said Danny Briere. “It was a little more tense around here today so it was good to see.”

Yesterday, the team enjoyed a full day off, with no practice or morning skate. The rest was especially welcome for Chris Pronger, who admitted that his surgically-repaired knee still isn’t 100 percent.

“I don’t know where it was supposed to be at this point,” Pronger said. “I think every day it’s getting a little bit better and a little bit stronger.”
