Flyers ready to strike Lightning

The Flyers’ reward for dropping a 3-0 game to Montreal? No practice.

Yes, the first-place Flyers (26 points) enjoyed a day off yesterday following Tuesday’s defeat. It was only their second loss in the team’s last 11 games.

The Flyers return to the ice today (7 p.m., CSN) when they host the Tampa Bay Lightning at the Wells Fargo Center. The Lightning are led by Steven Stamkos, who leads the NHL with a league-high 15 goals and 28 points.

“They have skill,” coach Peter Laviolette said.

The Flyers dropped their first meeting with Tampa Bay, 3-2, back on Oct. 14.
