Fourth sharp object found in local Halloween candy

A South Jersey child reportedly discovered a razor blade inside a wrapped Tootsie Roll they collected while trick-or-treating, reports say.

It’s the fourth such incident in the area since Halloween.

“The candy was collected in East Vineland in the neighborhoods off of Spring Road and Pennsylvania Ave,” Vineland police said.

Police are investigating the incident, reported on Monday.

Meanwhile, in nearby Manchester Township, a parent reportedly discovered a toothpick in a Tootsie Roll that their child had collected while trick-or-treating in thePine Lake Parkneighborhood, police said.

The parent found the toothpick after they bit the candy. The parent later found “anotheranother suspicious Tootsie Roll with a punctured wrapper but no toothpick inside,” police say.

In Lower Macungie, Pa., a girl found a pin stuck inside an unidentified piece of candy after trick-or-treating in the Ancient Oaks neighborhood, the Morning Call reported on Monday.

Lastly, in Towamencin Township, Montgomery County, a child reportedly discovered a razor inside an unidentified piece of candy on Saturday, after trick-or-treating nearWoodlawn Drive and Walnut Lane.

All incidents are currently under investigation.

Authorities urged all parents to check the candy their children collected while trick-or-treating before their kids enjoy it.
