Need some last-minute gift ideas? How about gifts that also provide some good?
Steven Singer Jewelers is open for the holiday season with gift ideas for anyone on your list, but the storefront at 8th and Walnut is also showing support for hospital workers by donating a portion from gold-dipped roses to feed the frontline.
“Steve Singer Jewelers is there to help with Christmas, holiday and New Year’s gifts for a holiday unlike any we have ever seen,” said Singer in a statement. “Our expert jewelers are there to help find the perfect gift for anyone in your household, down the block or across the country. We have gifts for those working from home, those who cherish their pets who offered support during 2020, and gifts for the moms, daughters and significant others. I am proud to reaffirm my support for frontline workers — as I recently was in the hospital myself and saw how stressed and overworked hospital workers are right now and they need our support more than ever. You can never go wrong with one of our famous gold-dipped roses.”
Fifteen gold-dipped roses are currently for sale on the Steven Singer website, including red, rose gold, classic, mint, purple passion, black diamond and more. The roses, which are an extremely popular and staple items from the well-known brand is just Singer’s latest venture into helping those who have been at the helm of the pandemic. After having his own bout in the hospital with open heart surgery, the jeweler wanted to give back directly any way he could. Steven Singer saw the importance of what healthcare workers were doing through this pandemic and beyond. He left the ICU and is recovering, but many COVID and other patients won’t this holiday.
Recently, Singer fed the entire hospital staff of Pennsylvania Hospital for Thanksgiving with meals purchased from Manny’s Catering, and now Singer will continue to feed hospital workers this Christmas season with meals from Dim Sum House by Jane G’s in Rittenhouse Square and University City. Philadelphians can help support these efforts while also bringing joy to their own special someone in their life.
The roses are each 12 inches in length, and are made from real roses preserved and then dipped and trimmed in 24 karat gold or platinum. Each rose is handcrafted by artisans, so “just like snowflakes, each rose is one-of-a-kind.” The roses start at $59.95 and feature a lifetime guarantee.
According to the release, on top of dipped roses, Steven Singer’s website and showroom also have a host of other ideas for everyone on Santa’s list — especially during unprecedented times when we all need the support of our families more than ever. In-person shopping is available by appointment and the expert jewelers are reporting seeing many pandemic proposals coming for Christmas with engagement rings being a big seller for the season so far. Additionally, the expert jewelers are available to help online shoppers through call, chat, text or even virtual video appointments. As with many local businesses that were forced to close their retail showrooms, Singer’s business has been greatly impacted by the statewide shut-down earlier this year. Yet, despite the retail store closing earlier in spring and summer to in-person sales, Singer supported his staff and “second family” by keeping 100% of the 60 part-time and full-time employees on payroll. He is also supporting additional jobs through his company’s fulfillment and processing center.
The other holiday gifts available for purchase include: Christa Diamond Engagement Rings (a near colorless, round diamond engagement ring set in a 14 karat white gold Tiffany style solitaire mounting), Helping Paw Necklace (a necklace with a silver paw print outline that interlocks with a diamond heart), a You and Me Diamond Necklace (a sterling silver necklace featuring connected hearts, one in a rose color and one set with diamonds), Silver Love Note Diamond Necklace (a sterling silver music note made of a heart in either rose, yellow or white, wrapping around a diamond), Anita Diamond Stud Earring (diamond studs starting at ¼ carat total weight set in 14 karat gold with Steven’s signature silicone safety backs), I Love You Mommy Two Diamond Necklace (a sterling silver and diamond heart necklace formed from a mother and her children to symbolize each on), Ring of Hearts (a circle pendant that is made up of many small hearts featuring a diamond in each one set into 14 karat white, yellow or rose gold), Romantic Diamond Tennis Bracelet (a classic tennis bracelet with romantic heart filigree) and Hoops (ranging from petite gold and plain to large and dripping in diamonds.)
