After a successful run last year at the Society Hill Playhouse, the Calamari sisters —Carmela and Delphine — are back with a hilarious Christmas special filled with cooking demonstrations and side-splitting comedy. The Troc is recreating The Last Waltz, the 1976 farewell concert by The Band where every famous rocker you’ve ever heard of showed up to play: Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Neil Young and more. Martin Scorsese later turned the whole thing into a must-see documentary. Garth Hudson of The Band will make an appearance, along with a list of top Philly musicians. Proceeds benefit four Philadelphia organizations that focus on education. A limited number of $100 VIP tickets are being sold and include a meet and greet with Hudson.

A 5,000-square-foot ice skating rink is taking over the Piazza for the next three months, giving the RiverRink a little competition. Even better, it’s cheap! The Jurassic era comes to life with giant animatronic dinosaurs. Real dinosaur skeletons, fossil casts, teeth and skulls are also on display, and the younger visitors can enjoy hands-on activities, including a fossil dig site and a detective touch-screen quiz. No judgement if you want to enjoy them, too. Members can skip the admission prices and buy a Dino Pass for get unlimited access to the exhibit — because once you bring the kids, they’re going to want to come back.
