‘Intense’ investigation nets two suspects in Lehigh Avenue murder

Two suspects have been arrested and charged with a murder last week off of Lehigh Avenue, police announced Tuesday.

Khalil Davenport, 20, and Nasir McNamee, 15, are charged with the murder of 20-year-oldJayvon Middleton-Pendleton on March 2, police said.

Middleton-Pendleton, of the 2200 block of SouthLambert Street,was reportedly shot multiple timesaround 6:39 p.m. on the 2700 block of Bonsall Street, just off of Lehigh Avenue in North Philly. A 20-year-old man walking with him was not shot at the time.

A .38-caliber revolver was recovered fromunderneath Middleton-Pendleton, police said.

Middleton-Pendleton died about two hours later from his injuries at Temple Hospital.

“As a result of an intense investigation, homicide investigators developed 2 suspects in the murder of Jayvon Middleton-Pendleton,” a police report on the arrests stated.

Davenport, of the 2700 block of North 23rd Street,and McNamee, of the 2600 block of North 23rd Street,were both arrested on Monday, police said.

Both suspects are charged with murder and related offenses.
