It’s a vibe.
That’s what Harrah’s is going for with their new after-dark dining and show experience. With the newly revamped Pool After Dark experience at the seaside casino, guests will now experience “vibe dining,” something very different from what patrons were used to before with the casino’s pool-side venue.
Before, when heading to this portion of Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City, guests would flood into the domed atrium-like venue to see popular DJs, celebrities and socialites in a club environment—something the city is quite known for. But, with this new revamped feel and look, the vibe at Harrah’s Pool After Dark takes on a much more upscale look and experience… And that’s the point. For those behind the revamp, they felt it was time for a change.
The new dinner and drink time experience is described as an “unparalleled experience, seamlessly blending dining, nightlife, and entertainment.” For Atlantic City, this rings true. Similar to some larger destinations in other parts of the country, Harrah’s has undertaken an updated look and a series of updated performances to combat the other changes in the form of pricing. But the changes are not meant to deter, they are meant to welcome those who are looking for something a bit different that sets the bar high from start to finish.
There are reservations available for dinner, and secondary reservations can be made for the club part afterwards. Guests that reserve a table for Vibe Dining, and are planning to stay for the Nightlife portion for example have to make a second reservation under the “VIP Section” on the website in order to stay at the same VIP Table. On the other hand, guests that dined during Vibe Dining or order VIP Bottle Service do not have to purchase a general admission ticket for the Nightlife. Guests can visit the bar area for the remainder of the night as well.
For dinner, the updated menu features a long list of cocktails, some of which have their own entertaining spin (think lights and fancy cups), while the food is meant to be shared. Portion-wise, most menu-items are brought out for two people (more can be added for a price) and are plated in a way that’s almost too pretty to eat. The sushi platter features an assortment of rolls and accouterments suitable for a duo, while the tacos come with portioned-out dishes of toppings, rice and beans. The sliders on the other hand slide right on and off the stick they are placed on with a bevy of crispy waffle fries acting as a plated centerpiece. As for the lobster mac and cheese, don’t be surprised to find the whole crustacean on your plate—that’s most likely what you’ll get, and it matches the overall atmosphere.
Other notable menu items include a dim sum platter, Louisiana barbecue wings and more. But the food isn’t the only thing being served up that can be shared; drinks can as well in larger sizes for parties hanging out in the cabanas.
For entertainment, the pool dons mermaids hanging by the shallow ends, while dancers, percussionists and saxophonists make their way around the club to each cabana. On the stage, acrobats, fire eaters and more dance and twirl around as the night goes on.
In all, the eye-catching food and drinks are there for two specific reasons: To entertain the guests, and to provide a night full of Instagram-able moments. So yes, you should be snapping as many pictures as you can and posting them wherever you see fit, it’s all part of the experience.
After the dinner experience begins to wind down (the kitchen is open until about 10:30 p.m.), that’s when the club aspect begins. There will be some guests who head to the Pool After Dark experience solely for this reason: the lights, the action and the music in this upbeat environment surrounded by aquatic influences, eclectic fixtures and lots of entertainment. For now, Harrah’s is shying more away from the constant celebrity influences headlining the night, but DJs and some notable names will definitely be on the docket on different nights in the future.
This sophisticated, tropical oasis right in the heart of Atlantic City comes through a surge of upgrades and additions from Caesars Entertainment’s long-term goals. That’s not just with Harrah’s singularly either, but with Atlantic City as a whole. Over the course of three years, Atlantic City will be seeing the results of Caesar’s reinvestment plan.
So with Harrah’s Pool After Dark experience, the vibe is only getting better and better.
