Jerry Seinfeld making rap album — yes, really!

OK, we know this isn’t sports-related (unless you want to draw a connection to DeSean Jackson, who recently lost a rap bet with Meek Mill). But this story is too good not to post.

Hold on, Meek Mill … you might not be Philly’s most popular rap star after all.

According to the New York Post, comedian Jerry Seinfeld was in our fair city working on an upcoming rap album (this isn’t a typo, but we’ll understand completely if you want to go back and re-read that last line). Apparently, Seinfeld’s wife is a huge fan of MMG (Maybach Music Group) star Wale and the two are collaborating on a mixtape.

“Wale called me, he came to my show, we hung out a little bit,” Seinfeld said, via The New York Post. “He wanted me to do something with him. I didn’t understand it, but he did.”

While Seinfeld isn’t a native of Philly, he and Wale have been working together in a Philadelphia recording studio. So, yes, there’s that. No album release dates or tour stops have been announced.
