Jersey chore: Local teams head to Atlantic City for A-10 tournament

La Salle’s double-overtime victory over St. Bonaventure Tuesday night was a great win for a program desperately trying to gain national recognition.

But, a win over Big 5 powerhouse Temple … in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 tournament? That would certainly be a recruiting tool.

“It’s very rewarding that my career isn’t over yet,” said senior Ruben Guillandeaux. “We get to play Temple on a neutral court, a team we know really well. We’re just excited.”

Friday’s game will be played in Atlantic City and broadcast regionally on The Comcast Network. The Explorers lost 90-82 to Temple last weekend.

Saint Joseph’s also scored an unlikely OT win, holding off George Washington, 71-59. The Hawks will battle No. 4 Duquesne on Friday at 2:30 p.m.
