Knight Arts Challenge Wants to Give You Money for Your Ideas

The Knight Foundation is accepting applications for its second annual Knight Arts Challenge, a series of grants given as part of a three-year, $9 million campaign to fund innovative arts initiatives in Philadelphia that benefit local communities.

The entries, which are being accepted through Oct. 31, have three provisions: they must be about the arts, they must take place in or benefit Philadelphia and recipients must find matching funds for their projects within a year.

Knight offers the program in Miami, as well, and received 1,752 submissions from the two cities last year.

36 artists and organizations were given $2.7 million during Knight Art’s last Philadelphia challenge.
