Former Eagles fullback Leonard Weaver will be at the NovaCare Complex Tuesday afternoon to retire as a Philadelphia Eagle.
Weaver, who earned a Pro-Bowl invitation in 2009, will sign a one-day contract with the team and officially announce his retirement. Weaver was highly regarded as one of the best fullbacks in the NFL before tearing his Achilles in the 2010 season opener. The gruesome tear went viral and he never returned to the field.
In 2009, he led all NFL fullbacks in rushing attempts (70) and yards (323), along with four total touchdowns (two rushing, two receiving). Weaver played in 63 games in his career, including 19 starts, in six NFL seasons.
