Tim Lincecum isn’t sick anymore. However, the Phils bats are ill — and not in the good sense.
The diminutive Giants ace, who missed the first two games of this series due to a flu bug, led San Francisco to a 4-1 win Thursday over the Phillies.

Lincecum didn’t have his best stuff but for the second consecutive night, the Phillies bats were silent against the Giants’ heralded pitching staff. (They came in with a MLB-leading 3.08 team ERA).
Lincecum gave up just three hits in six innings.
Kyle Kendrick pitched decently for the Phillies, giving up three earned runs in 6 1/3 innings. Kendrick also had one of the Phillies’ six hits. With the loss, the Phils dropped their first series since the Seattle Mariners took two out of three from Charlie Manuel’s squad in June.
The Pirates come in for a three-game set this weekend. Nice story. But the big question on everyone’s mind: Will Sunday’s trade deadline end with Houston’s Hunter Pence in red pinstripes?
