In times of uncertainty, it helps to see that many establishments are taking the necessary steps to ensure their patrons that they are going to do everything they can to maintain a healthy, fun and safe environment for all. Loews Hotel Philadelphia is taking that ideology one step further with its new pledge, “Welcoming You Like Family.”

The hotel chain may have more than one base in the country (there are 26 total in the United States), but the new pledge is there to individualize everyone’s experience on a more personal level. With the current pandemic situation, the air isn’t exactly clear, and mostly everyone—no matter what city, state or region—is looking for some sort of life raft before stepping out into public.

“In 2019 we began the process to identify a much-needed opportunity to define a new brand message that captured what makes Loews Hotels different,” said Jonathan Tisch, Chairman & CEO, Loews Hotels & Co in a statement. “Welcoming you like family clearly defines the brand and what our hotels do best, which is care for guests just like we care for our own family. While deeply ingrained in our DNA, this message resonates now more than ever through providing guests with confidence and peace of mind when staying with Loews.

“‘Welcoming You Like Family’ captures the powerful feeling of familiarity and comfort, which characterizes the Loews guest experience and is a philosophy that guides service and operations at Loews Philadelphia Hotel while uniting the 26 Loews hotels and resorts across North America,” Tisch continued. “For a Loews guest at Loews Philadelphia Hotel, this means experiencing intuitive service that meets their individual needs with a certain level of informality, just like family. And, for a Loews team member, it means delivering personalized service and being empowered to go above and beyond to ensure each guest leaves feeling part of the Loews family, whether it is their first stay or their tenth.”

All the sentiment means well, but it helps to see what exactly this new service will entail. Loews Philadelphia will be rebranding with its website, digital advertising and within the hotel guest experience overall with new protocols and standards.

Masks, of course, will be required when entering and walking around the building. Signage will also now be on display throughout the hotel to help maintain social distances and plexiglass will also be in place at all desks to help keep guests and employees of the hotel safe as well. Most other requirements fit into the ‘new normal’ of living through the age of corona with hand sanitizer stations, a new rigorous cleaning system being carried out, administering temperature checks to employees and vendors, limiting the number of patrons in elevators and also administering continuous water and air testing.

A few new protocols unique to the Loews brand specifically include contactless experiences during a guests’ stay—even with your room’s television through an app, towels and linens being dropped off in sealed bags, leaving guest rooms vacant for at least 24 hours after a thorough cleaning and more.

Although the hotel is an ideal destination for a staycation in the City of Brotherly Love, the experience will still look a bit different amenity-wise than before. For instance, some poolside experiences such as the concierge are suspended for the time being, but guests can still relax in the new socially distanced chaise lounges as they see fit. The recreation center is also open, but gym-goers are asked to maintain social distances as well as allow cleanings to take place every 90 minutes.

There will also be select food and beverage services available, with some new guidelines that, according to the hotel, will evolve as time goes on. According to the site, bars, lounges and restaurants are subject to availability and will follow all state/local ordinances, and room service, if available, will be delivered in disposable to go eco-friendly containers and left at the guest room door for a contactless experience.

Meetings and events are also going to be coordinated specifically with Loews to ensure that guidelines are in place to keep everyone safe and healthy. A full list of protocols for all areas of any guests’ stay is available on the Loews Philadelphia website as well.

“There couldn’t be a better time to stand behind what makes Loews Philadelphia Hotel distinctive in the region, and we understand that currently the future of travel is contingent on how our guests feel and are cared for,” said Rick Staub, Managing Director, Loews Philadelphia Hotel in a statement. “While important, guest comfort needs to go beyond communicating cleaning protocols and statistics. Our team members within the Loews Philadelphia Hotel family are well versed in finding opportunities to connect with and care for guests, even in our currently physically distanced environment. Through ‘Welcoming You Like Family’ we look forward to serving our guests and each other thoughtfully and intuitively, just like family.”

Loews Philadelphia Hotel is also adding to their new initiative with a new offer, titled ‘Park, Play, Extend Your Stay.’ The new offer features parking for one vehicle per night, a daily $25 food and beverage credit, a room upgrade (based upon availability) and late check-out to 4 p.m.
