Authorities are searching for a man who went missing in the Delaware River yesterday evening.
The man, 44, was aboard a boat with friends in the area of 8500 State Road in Holmesburg. Several of the boaters went overboard to swim shortly before 11 p.m. When the now-missing man entered the river, he seemed to be having difficulty swimming and a flotation device was thrown to him.
After the victim could no longer be seen in the water, his friends searched briefly, then landed the boat near the Frankford Arsenal and called authorities.
The Marine Unit searched for hours and will resume searching this morning.
