The Philadelphia Police Department is looking for a suspect in connection with the robbery of a Dollar General in Yorktown.

Cops said that on Jan. 2 around 8:10 a.m., a man entered the Dollar General at 901 West Girard Ave., five blocks from the Girard Avenue Broad Street Line stop. Authorities alleged that he approached an employee at the front register and pointed a handgun, demanding money.

“After the employee opened a safe, the suspect removed two bags containing an unknown amount of money,” cops said, “and cash from the cash register placing it in a yellow Dollar General bag.” The suspect then reportedly fled on a red bicycle.

Police described the suspect as a black male in his late 30s wearing thick black rimmed glasses, a green scarf, a green knit hat, ashy black pants, cream colored pants and a brown v-neck sweater.
