Man stabbed to death and possibly hit by car in Frankford

A young man was found dead after being stabbed and possibly struck by a car in Philadelphia’s Frankford section, 6ABC reported.

Officers were called to the scene around 8:30 p.m. Thursday after reports of a stabbing on the 4700 block of Oxford Avenue. They found the unidentified 20-something male with multiple stab wounds to the chest. Police say that he may have also been hit by a white SUV, though it was not clear.

The man was taken to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to a report from Philly.com.

Witnesses told investigators they saw someone running from the scene near Oxford and Frankford avenues. They told police they saw the figure throw something into a storm drain. Upon further investigation, authorities found a bloody knife, 6ABC explained.

Police believe the knife is connected to the incident, and they have located an address connected to the SUV’s tags. The investigation is ongoing.
