Police are trying to find a man wanted in connection with the violent weekend carjacking of an 82-year-old woman in Hainesport, New Jersey.

Authorities said the woman was sitting in a 2015 Toyota Rav 4 with the keys in the ignition while waiting for her daughter in a ShopRite parking lot.

A man then approached the driver’s side door, attacked the elderly woman and forced her out of the car before driving away, police said.

The suspect was described as a black man, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 170 pounds with long, braided hair. He was seen wearing a white Phillies baseball jersey, white pants and red shoes.

“We would really, really like to solve this one,” a post on the department’s Facebook page reads. “The victim could be your mother or your grandmother. We can replace cars, but we can’t replace the fear and trauma that this elderly woman unnecessarily had to endure.”
